The worst moments in my life have been when I’ve been lost.

I have many men say the same thing to me.

This is why purpose is not only so crucial for me personally, but also for all the men that we work with at Brotherhood.

You want to be pulled by life in the morning. To have a deep reason for being here.

Otherwise we are at the whim of our distractions and our addictions.

Living a life based on our parents, partners, friends, society’s expectation of who we are.

Now how does one find it you ask?

Well often it’s right under your nose.

• What lights you up now?
• What challenges and pain points have you navigated through in your life?
• How did you solve them?
• What skill sets have you gained?
• How can you bring them to the world?

At brotherhood we call them the boss battles.

It’s fun to gamify life, business and the mission.

And the reason we do it is 2 fold.

1. To get men up of their bum playing video games, fantasising their life through movies and to step in as the hero in their own story

2. Life is not on easy mode, however what was so appealing about those games? That they were difficult, and then sense of achievement as you moved through the levels.

You see there is one fact, you are going to experience tragedy, loss and times where it feels like you get knocked down.

However once you realise it’s not life condemning you, it’s life believing in you.

As men we love the story of the underdog, of the comeback. Of the hero who got knocked down again and again however would not give up.

Who stayed true to the vision no matter the odds

That is you, that is me, that is us. That is Brotherhood.

There is no great achievement without a great boss battles to overcome.

So lift your head high, and go again.

Because if you do not quit, you cannot fail.

And if you’re tired of rallying alone.

As men we pride ourselves in being able to problem solve and anticipate.

Casting a vision into the future and one brick at a time bringing it into reality.

But,

What if your attachment to how the outcome is going to look is the very thing strangling your results?

Whether that be with your partner, your business, your health.

What is the mother of all disappointment?

Expectation.

Now I’m not saying don’t commit.

Commit wholeheartedly to the results you want.

However relinquishing attachment to the HOW it will come about.

For a man like yourself, expectation has been the killer in your life.

Yes expectation of external outcomes.

But more so your expectation of yourself.

How big are our egos to think we’re in control!?

Trust the greater plan.

“But Darren, isn’t a good thing to have expectations over yourself?”

Well if you attach to an outcome and it doesn’t come about the way you foresaw, I imagine you are beating yourself over the head about it constantly.

And that doesn’t sound like a winning mindset to me, yes be accountable. As my mentor would say, just be REASONABLE.

Better supportive mindset + letting go of the how + consistently doing the actions = the results you desire.

The break up.
The detour.
The time it’s taking to grow.
The setback.

It’s all part of your origin story 🤝

Back to the basics.

The thing that often goes out the window when life goes into chaos.

However it is the foundation for everything in your life.

How do you reasonable expect to show up when the going gets tough if you haven’t even set yourself up for success by setting the foundations?

When we don’t look after ourself, depression increases, our nervous system is operating in sympathetic, we’re irritable, reactive, fear driven, anxious.

Our lenses of reality gets distorted and we end up crumbling the foundations of our mission, of our kingdom rather than building it up.

My mentor ingrained it into me, “love yourself so much so that it overflows into the lives of others.”

When your cup is full you can pour into your life, when it’s empty you’re serving nothing and no one.

I’m stressed.
There’s deadlines.
I need to make money.
I’ve gotta connect with my partner.
I’m feeling extremely overwhelmed.
I’ve gotta be there for my family.
I’ve got calls to make.

I get it brother, breathe.

Take time for you, calm the nervous system down and then come back to the arena.

As a child they learnt that they had to put everyone else’s needs before their own.

Maybe due to walking on eggshells in the house hold or making the association their needs were secondary.

Feeling that their love needed to be ‘earned’ and they had to work for the approval of their parents.

Therefore constantly seeking regulation of their nervous system outwardly and completely disconnecting from their own body and from their own needs.

Often when I ask men who grew up in similar situation what they feel their needs are… they often reply with “I honestly don’t know”.

And you see this leads to seeking clarity of direction outwardly, therefore constantly seeking the approval of parents, partners or even society for the ‘right direction’.

Meaning he builds a life based on what he thinks the world wants from him, rather than one that is authentic to his own deepest core.

His life becomes a performance to mask the deep pain and resentment dormant beneath.

This is why it’s crucial for men to commit to the process of healing and acknowledging the little boy inside. Gaining the tools to acknowledge and process the emotions of the past fully, otherwise we continue to attract scenarios, places and people who will continue to trigger the patterns and pain until we stop to feel it and gain the teachings.

But they actually become your elixir, the very thing that draws your dreams towards you.

All it takes is for you to wake up, and to have the balls to go after it.

Business can at times be a lonely journey…

The last 24 hours has been exceptional spending time with one of my business mentors @eoinmcccarthy as he assisted in seeing all new levels of development, mindset and clarity around what the future and present entails for Brotherhood 🙌🏻

Investing in @eoinmcccarthy and @leighwinsor has been a god send.

And tbh before seeking their assistance, I had subscribed to the idea that I was locking in completely solo for a period of time.

However no matter what I did, I only operated with the level of tools and awareness that I had.

Therefore in order to bring in a new identity and new results, I needed new information and eyes from those who are embodying the lifestyle I truly desire, like literally living and breathing it.

We only know what we know.

And a new level is always going to need a new set of tools, strategy, mindset and identity in order to create it.

This is the magic of mentorship.

This is the magic of community.

An exert I wrote on Reisistance a while back…

Resistance is a sultry seductress.

Every man’s every day mistress.

That seduces him away from his calling, with the promise of relief but the surety of doom scrolling and broken dreams.

It whispers at you and manipulates your mind into believing instant gratification is the antidote to my existential angst.

It over complicates and disconnects one from their souls roaring mission.

But sure in reality that’s what she is made for, for one thing to exist it’s polarity must also.

For what is a Heroic story without a villain, what is the sun without rain, what is the day without night.

For once you bring awareness to her presence she but merely opens the door, and you may walk through retrieving the elixir that comes when you choose the path of no mind and answer the call.

As Peter said to Miles when he queried him when he would finally come to know himself as Spider Man. “You won’t Miles, it’s a leap of faith. That’s all it is.”

and in that leap, she knows very well she has played her role expertly as you have received her teaching, trust yourself, answer the call, and just do the fucking thing. 🤝

Since 2018 I have invested over $100,000 in myself, my business and my education.

Why?

Because I learned very early on that I am my greatest appreciating asset.

And the more I can surround myself with winners and with those who are creating the impact I want, the more it is inevitable that I will create that too.

AND

It therefore gives me greater skills, awareness and tools to be able to serve all you lads within the Brotherhood space.

It’s also important to point out not ALL of my educational investments were clever ones, however I learnt very quickly, because I had to.

At times I was young and naive and extremely opportunistic,

however I am grateful because I remember being at a Tony Robbins event in Fiji in 2018 at 21 using money I didn’t have and a astute business man walking up to me and saying “man, do you have any idea what this is going to do for you in 10 years?”

The truth is I kinda did, but wholeheartedly I had just hoped, but now 7 years later I can see what he meant.

If the effect is not always INSTANT, it certainly compounds and in my belief, like any investment, the earlier you can make the investment, the more it will compound with time.

This is why I am COMMITTED for the rest of my life to always invest in myself, as I know I can’t do it on my own, and I do become the product of the environments I choose.

P.S. This is why we built Brotherhood 💪🏼 we have 2 slots available in our Academy for any lads who feel the call to make that investment in your future

When a boy is born, he is naturally attuned to his mothers energy.

It is when he is brought into the world, he can then attune to his father’s energy and the way of the masculine.

This is why for 1000’s of years the men would take the boys out hunting in tribes.

When a boy does not receive this attunement in his childhood, he will spend his whole life searching for it.

Good news, if the father is not present, it can be fulfilled just by spending quality time around other men.

This is why we take our men out into the wilderness at our events.

Ita not just connecting back to nature.

It’s attuning to masculine nutrients.

Laughing, crying, challenge, story telling, Brotherhood.

It’s what we have done for 1000s of years, so why stop now?

In a world that can at times tell you different.

At Brotherhood we celebrate it.

There is so much activated in a man through his primal nature.

The essence of the warrior.

An integration of a beast within.

Which once integrated and tamed, actually brings so much safety to all around, because it’s not screaming to come out unconsciously, however now consciously integrated.

The warrior builds kingdoms and protects it.

The magic is marrying that primal energy with all the other aspects of yourself.

The ones that tame it when needed.

This is the magic sauce of modern masculinity.

It’s not only okay for you to be all of the man you are, it’s crucial.

In a world that can at times tell you different.

At Brotherhood we celebrate it.

And even more so now that I’m on my origin lands, the emerald eisle.

As I was sitting in the forest today at the peaks of Carlingford, I had tears rolling down my face at the feeling of sitting on the lands that had felt like a vague memory of the past.

What some might take for granted, sitting on lands that I actually originate from is foreign to me.

And today I took myself out to soak it all in.

Life’s been 100 miles an hour since I got here, and it’s been amazing, but it’s been a lot.

I had been itching to just take myself to a green Irish field and just lay in it and release the constraints of the world.

Ask most men, and this sounds like heaven.

The formidable masculine urge for deep freedom.

But true freedom, from my understanding, comes from the depth of connection to yourself and therefore the universe around you.

Both being one and the same.

The person I am always looking for is me.

And in the silence of the Irish forest and the glistening green grass, I came back home to me.

The main reason being that I too fall into the trap and it got me reflecting as men we deeply crave connection and assistance however struggle so deeply to seek it,

Which leads us to fall back into “well I best just figure it out in my own.”

And don’t get me wrong I firmly believe being self reliant is a powerful asset to yourself.

But what I’m speaking to, even in myself, is digging your heals in on your own in a situation that you’ve tried again and again to move through on your own however the result stays the same.

“But this time, maybe if I just try hard enough it will work.”

I get it.

Is it conditioning?
Is it wanting to be perceived as strong?
Is it the fear of looking weak?
Is it that in war vulnerability meant we were open to attack and fear we will be ridiculed if we seek assistance?

Probably all of them.

However, at the end of the day, could these ‘stories’ be what’s actually holding us back?

From moving through whatever ‘boss battle’ we are in right now?

This is the lesson I constantly come back to.

And it’s funny because we consistently have to drink our own medicine.

I built Brotherhood because, Brotherhood is consistently what I need.

What all men need.

A tribe of men who are savages with big hearts.

Who hold us up when we need.

And who we hold when they need.

Because the teaching truly is, that Together Everyone Achieves More.

Where are you holding it all in my brother? Where are you scared to ask for assistance?

No one was clapping when I was piecing together my vision for Brotherhood after hours, wondering if anyone would care.
No one saw the nights I was working with zero sales, no traction, and questioning if I was crazy for believing in this.

But that’s where it starts.

Your mission doesn’t begin when the world sees you.
It begins when you see yourself as the man worthy of doing the work… even if no one is watching.

And eventually, the world catches up.

If you’re stuck waiting for permission, validation, or the right time…
Stop.
The work starts now.

I remember the was a point in my life when I thought “I could continue to scream from the sidelines here, or I can actually jump into the arena.”

So I migrated back to the land from which I was born, Ireland. With the woman of my dreams.

If you would have told me this early December last year, I honestly would have said to “wtf?”

And isn’t this the joyous nature of life 🙌🏻

December last year I made an extremely sudden trip to Ireland, due to family emergency, for the first time in 9 years, and it was emotional to say the least.

Something hit me the moment I landed.

The land called me home, and after devoting the last 9 years to my career and education, everything was pulling me back home, to my land of origin, and to explore Europe.

It sounds super idealistic, and in ways it is, but tbh I cannot logically tell you the full reason, just that I had a full body feeling, and I leapt and here we are.

And the moment I made that decision the beautiful @ferzaffari came by my side, and here we are taking this leap together… and I have to pinch myself every day.

It’s exciting, it’s fulfilling, it’s scary as all hell, and it’s sad leaving familiar faces 🥺

But it feels so right, and it’s as if I’m breathing better, and everything feels lighter. I feel alive.

And even better everyone gathered around for a family wedding, which meant I am in Ireland with my siblings for the first time in 14 years.

So what does this mean for Brotherhood?

We will still have events & retreats ongoing in Australia as @matthew_mcmaster & @cyan_ronnors89 take the mental after being trained under the Brotherhood banner 🤝

Our online spaces will be expanding.

And I will now set a foundation in Ireland and Europe 🙌🏻

You either live fully, or die wondering ❤️

I will keep you posted as things develop,
